RCB Team 2023 Matches, Fixtures, Players List, Captain, Retained Players list is now available on this page now. The cricket team Royal Challengers Bangalore (commonly referred to as RCB) is based on representing Bengaluru, Karnataka, in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Named after the company’s liquor brand Royal Challenge, United Spirits established it in 2008 (from the debut season of IPL ).
Highlights
RCB Team 2023
Between 2009 and 2016, the Royal Challengers ranked second three times but did not win the IPL a single time. Vijay Mallya paid US$111.6 million for the Bangalore franchise in the 2008 auction of IPL teams in Mumbai, making it the second-highest bid for a team. However, after Vijay Mallya resigned as the director of United Spirits Limited, the management of RCB was handed over to his successors under the brand of United Spirits Limited.
The RCB squad currently owns the IPL records for both the most and lowest totals, 263/5 and 49, respectively. Although the franchise has never been able to win the series, they have a huge fan base due to their star cricket players, Virat Kohli and AB de Villers. Another possible reason for its fan base is that this is the only Ipl team to hold the record of most sixes, which is 1131.
RCB Team List 2023
In addition, the Royal Challengers were the first team to offer free Wi-Fi to supporters at their home stadium during the 2014 IPL. Fifty access points were built up utilising fibre optic cables to enable fans to connectivity on game days at the Chinnaswamy stadium. In 2019, a survey by Duff & Phelps estimated that the brand value of Royal Challengers Bangalore was 595 crore (US$75 million).
In the 2022 season of IPL, the team reached the second Qualifier stage but was defeated in the match by Rajasthan Royals. However, the team performed well in the last season, in which they won 8 games, lost 6 out of 14 matches, and finished in the fourth spot in the table.
