AFC Asian Cup Draw Date 2023
The Asian Cup Draw was held in Doha at Katara Opera House on May 11, 2023. The 24 qualified teams were consequently divided into Groups A, B, C, D, E and F after the draw. The group details are listed below:
- Group A will have Qatar, China, Tajikistan and Lebanon.
- Group B will have Australia, Uzbekistan, Syria, and India.
- Group C will consist of IR Iran, UAE, Hong Kong, China, and Palestine.
- Group D will comprise Japan, Indonesia, Iraq, and Vietnam.
- Group E will have  Korea, the Republic of Malaysia, Jordan, and Bahrain.
- Group F will be formed up of Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Kyrgyz Republic, and Oman.
Six teams were assigned to each of the four pots, which the tournament organisers formed. The positions of all other teams were then randomly selected from Pots 4 to 2, while Pot 1 teams were assigned to the first spots in their groups. Six groups were created with the aid of these pots, and each team playing inside a group will face off against another team. The winning teams in this important competition will move on.

There are six groups made up of four teams each, made up of all the competing teams. After some teams are eliminated, the surviving teams play about 15 games total after playing about 36 matches overall. During the third round of qualifiers, which featured Hong Kong, Afghanistan, India and Cambodia. The Indian team led by Igor Stimac’s squad qualified for the 2023 tournament by winning their group.
AFC Asian Cup India Status 2023
India, having qualified successfully for the continental championship by winning its third-round Group, was placed in pot 4 for the draw held in Doha. In the actual event, India will now be in Group B. India will be participating in the AFC Asian Cup event for the fifth time after taking part in it four times previously in 1964, 1984, 2011, and 2019. Although they finished second in the 1964 competition, they were unable to proceed past the group round in the next three iterations.
