Good Omens Overview
Good Omens is a fantasy comedy web series created ad scripted by Neil Gaiman. The series is based on Terry Pratchett and the creators’ 1990 novel of the same name. It is co-directed by Douglas Mackinnon with Gaiman. The original season premiered on Amazon Prime Video on May 31, 2019. Despite the average ratings and viewership, the show was renewed for the second season in June 2021.
Good Omens, like the novel, features various Christian themes and figures. The multiple characters in the series try either to promote or thwart an imminent Armageddon, which is seen through the eyes of the angel(Aziraphale) and demon (Crowley).
Good Omens Season 2 Anticipated Story
The first season revolves around the demon Crowley and the angel Aziraphale. The two of them have grown accustomed to each other’s company and a pleasing life on earth. They have agreed not to let the conflict between their sides prevent their friendship. They want to have life on Earth, representatives of Heaven and Hell. When both of them come to know that the final battle between heaven and hell is about to happen, they team up to fight against the Antichrist to prevent Armageddon from being brought on by the Antichrist.
Now what more will happen in the second season? To answer this, there is not much information about it. But a brief insight into what the fans can expect in the upcoming season is shared by Neil Gaiman. According to a statement shared by him, the new season will probably share some glimpses of the origin story of Crowley and Aziraphale. He further said that the story is back in Soho to solve a mystery which begins with an angel rambling through Soho with no memory.
Hence from the above statement, it has been clear that the angels will play pivotal roles in the second season. Adding to the speculations, a video was shared by the network last year in which the showrunner illustrates the season as “Quiet and gentle, and romantic”. The statement has given rise to speculation about the romance brewing between angel and demon.
